Girls Standing Up! is our newest project here at Bright Futures. ‘GSU’ aims to tackle violence against women and girls (VAWG) and the gender stereotypes that contribute to this. GSU was developed in 2020 in response to the murder of Sarah Everard. Since then, over 180 young people have been involved in the project.

Young people engaging in the project have given themselves the title of ‘Fearless Female Ambassadors’ and have completed and continue to work on exciting social action projects to improve the experiences of young women in South Tyneside and tackle VAWG locally.
