Bright Futures carry out detached work four evenings a week. The role of outreach/detached youth work is varied; the aim is to engage young people in a range of settings including streets, shopping centres, and local parks at times that are appropriate to them and on their terms. Youth workers attempt to develop a relationship of trust where they can then challenge young people’s behaviour and attitudes towards themselves and others and provide opportunities to promote personal and social and educational attainment. As part of this work we deliver a range of sporting activities which aims to increase young people’s physical activity levels by bringing fitness and sports to the streets where young people congregate. In total we have engaged with 3943 young people through detached youth work. You can find staff from Bright Futures on the following days and times:

Tuesday 5-8pm

Wednesday 5-8pm

Thursday 5-8pm
